Kashmir's separatists protest against detention of their leaders
Srinagar, July 21 (ANI): Separatists staged a protest here on Tuesday against detention of people of the valley including their leaders.
The State Government of Kashmir on Monday booked Syed Ali Shah Geelani, the Chairman of the hardline faction of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), under the Public Safety Act for calling "frequent strikes and protests" in the valley.
The protestors, who also alleged human rights violations in the state, hoped that international forums would play an important role in finding a peaceful solution of the Kashmir issue.
"We hope that the US Government along with India, Pakistan and several other international forums will play an important role in finding a peaceful solution to the Kashmir issue," said Javed Mir, a separatist leader. (ANI)
