'Significant number of 9/11 perpetrators in Pak'

New Delhi, Jul 21: US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton on Monday. Jul 20 said that many of the 9/11 attackers who are part of the al Qaeda are in Pakistan. Her statement comes after the statement by Pakistan PM Yousuf Raza Gilani claiming that al-Qaeda's ringleader, Osama Bin Laden was in Afghanistan.

Hillary said that the US officials, 'firmly believe' that a 'significant number' of the 9/11 attackers were hiding in the borders of Pakistan. She disclosed that Washington has told Islamabad what it believes about the location of al-Qaeda leaders on its soil.

"With respect to the location of those who were part of the planning and execution of the attack of 9/11 against our country, we firmly believe that a significant number of them are in the border area of Pakistan," she said while addressing a oint press interaction with India's External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna.

Responding to these allegations, Pakistan's Foreign Office spokesman Abdul Basit reaffirmed that these perpetrators of US 9/11 and Indian 26/11 are not in Pakistan but in Afghanistan.
