Nicolas Sarkozy made a Buddhist chef cook meat for him
New York, July 20 (ANI): If you were French President Nicolas Sarkozy, you could probably get a Buddhist chef to cook meat for you.
That's what happened when Le Bernardin chef/co-owner Eric Ripert got an urgent call from Sarkozy's office, asking him to cook for the French president and UN President Miguel d'Escoto Brockmann at the French consulate.
However, Sarkozy even requested that seafood master Ripert cook two filets of beef with truffle risotto.
And Ripert, who is a Buddhist, obliged heartily.
"Eric was happy to report that it was well-received, thus proving even a Buddhist chef can cook meat once in a while," the New York Post quoted Ripert's representative as saying. (ANI)
