Two cases of swine flu in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, July 19(ANI): Two people including a doctor have tested positive for H1 N1 influenza here on Sunday.

According to Union Territory's Health Department, a 29-year-old doctor of the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PIMER), who recently attended a seminar in United Kingdom, and a 50-year woman who recently returned from her tour of Singapore were tested positive for the influenza.

According to sources, the test conducted by the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD), New Delhi, also confirmed the presence of H1 N 1 virus in their medical samples.

Chandigarh's nodal officer for Swine flu cases, Dr. H.C.Gera, said the patients have been treated in the isolated wards, and all precautionary measures have been taken.

Health officials are also conducting the examination of the family members, and maid of the infected woman as a precautionary measure. (ANI)
