New Delhi, Jul 17: Even before the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh addressed the parliament about the joint statement between India and Pakistan, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has questioned the UPA government as to what 'prompted' the government to change its stance on Pakistan.

The leader of Opposition, Arun Jaitley, expressed 'surprise and disappointment' over the new development, said "action on terrorism should not be linked to the composite duologue process and these should not be bracketed."

He added that this 'reversal' of policy will not stand good as long as cross cross-border terrorism, state sponsored terrorism and terrorism emanating from Pakistani soil continue.

Sushma Swaraj also raised her voice against the issue, by stating that this move was 'betrayal to India'.
