Seven killed in bus accident in West Bengal
Chandipur (West Bengal), July 13 (ANI): A bus accident claimed at least seven lives and left around 25 people injured at Chandipur village of West Bengal on Monday.
Carrying about 45 passengers the bus fell into a canal after driver lost control over the vehicle while trying to overtake a car.
The villagers rushed to the rescue of the victims as they took out bodies from the canal.
"Locals came to rescue the passengers. So far, two men, a two-year-old kid and a woman have been found dead. The rescue work is still on though," said Rampada Jana, an eyewitness.
The injured were admitted to nearby hospital. Meanwhile, the rescue work is still on, to take out more bodies from the canal. (ANI)
