Pak: Blast in cleric's house kills 9
Multan, Jul 13: An explosion rocked a farming province of Punjab in central Pakistan on Monday, Jul 13 killing at least nine people. The explosion took place at the home of a local cleric and has reduced dozens of homes to rubble.
"The blast took place inside the house of a local cleric. Children used to come to his house for religious education," local district police chief Kamran Khan was quoted as saying in a news agency report.

news
reports,
at
least
50
people
have
been
injured
and
many
people
are
still
trapped
under
the
rubble.
Rescue
operations
have
been
started
off.
"Rescue teams have recovered nine dead bodies. Dozens are injured. The blast was apparently due to some type of explosives inside the house," Khan added.
A local hospital authorities have confirmed the death toll. But the police authorities are still unclear as to why the explosives detonated.
