Suspected US attacks in Pak, kills 12
Islamabad, Jul 7: At least 12 insurgents were killed on Tuesday, Jul 7 when a suspected US missiles hit a training camp run by a Taliban leader Baituallah Mehsud, Pakistani intelligence official said.
The officials told to news agencies that the incident took place in the Makeen area of South Waziristan close to the Aghan border and missiles were believed to be launched by unmanned American planes.
An official said, "Our initial reports from agents in the field say at least 12 to 14 Taliban have died in today's American missile attack," He also added that several militants were also wounded and Mehsud was not among the victims.
Pakistan's army is spreading troops across South Waziristan and launching regular air strikes of its own to kill or capture Mehsud, who is blamed for organising of suicide attacks in Pakistan.
