Varun fears threat to life from underworld

New Delhi, Jul 5: Varun Gandhi, (BJP) MP has urged the government to give him more security after the Delhi police had arrested six sharpshooters of Chhota Shakeel as they alleged to kill Varun's lawyers.

Varun said, "The arrest of Chhota Shakeel's men exemplifies exactly the kind of terror and violence against which I stand and have been warning against."

"This is the second time in recent months that such a conspiracy has been uncovered. I am personally not intimidated by such cowardly threats," he added.

However, Varun's mother Menaka Gandhi has written a letter to Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh that the Home Minister is not taking the 'threats' to her son"s life seriously.

She said, "The Home ministry has taken these threats very casually--it is as if you want Varun Gandhi to be killed." The Home Minister told me he cannot protect everyone in this country," added Maneka, BJP MP from Aonla in Uttar Pradesh.
