Security forces to capture Pingboni, Birbhanpur in Lalgarh area

Kolkata July 5 (ANI): The central paramilitary forces and West Bengal state police are moving towards Maoists strong holds of Pingboni and Birbhanpur, after the capture of Kalimuri and Madhupur.

In a major operational success security forces took Kalaimuri and Madhupur in their control, from where they are expected to launch further operations.

Meanwhile, West Bengal Home Secretary Ardhendu Sen is schedule to visit Lalgarh on Sunday to asses the ground situation.

According to Manoj Kumar Varma, Superintendent of Police of west Midnapore district, the security forces faced a stiff resistance from the Maoists in the forest areas of Kalaimuri, overall twenty-five land mines have been recovered from the forest area. Twenty-Eight persons were arrested on the suspicion of their link with Maoist outfits.

The district administration has decided for the speedy distribution of BPL cards for the people living below poverty line and all those who remained deprived of these cards.

Sources said, the district administration has decided to take up the work under National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) programmes, which remained completely suspended in the area. (ANI)
