Curfew continues in Baramullah, Sopore
Srinagar, July 02 (ANI): The towns of Baramullah and Sopore in North Kashmir continued to be remain under indefinite curfew on Thursday.
Curfew was imposed in Baramullah on Monday following a violent protest after CRPF men allegedly misbehaved with a Muslim woman.
Curfew was temporarily relaxed on Wednesday evening to enable people to purchase necessary items.
Life across the Kashmir Valley has come to a standstill due to a general strike observed to protest the killing of four persons in Baramullah.
On Wednesday Chief Minister Omar Abdullah ordered the withdrawal of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and deployed the Jammu and Kashmir State Armed Police for law and order duties in Baramullah, he also ordered a magisterial enquiry into the incident. (ANI)
