Popular Manipuri actress arrested for terror links

Imphal, Jun 30: The Manipur police on Monday, Jun 29 has arrested Urikhinbam Devita, 24-year-old Manipuri actress for terror links after she was caught in a hotel room in New Delhi with R K Raghunath, a top rebel leader.

A police spokesperson said that 24-year-old actress was arrested from Imphal airport on Monday, Jun 29 after she returned from New Delhi. The official said, "Devita was arrested and is being interrogated."

Devita was found in a hotel room in New Delhi on Jun 16 by a team of Manipur and Delhi police along with R K Raghunath, 48-year-old, a top leader of the outlawed Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL).

According to family sources, Devita was in New Delhi regarding her health check up. Umabati Devi, Devita's mother said, "My daughter is innocent."

The police are trying to investigate on the issue if the KYKL were trying to set up a base in New Delhi with the help of Devita.
