PM receives Liberhan report on Babri demolition
New Delhi, Jun 30: The Liberhan commission submitted the report on the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition to the Prime Minister on Tuesday, Jun 30.
Retd Justice Liberhan submitted the 700 page report with 48 extensions, to the PM in the presence of the Home Minister, P Chidambaram.
Media reports quote Justice Liberhan as saying " It is now the Parliament's privilege to discuss the report."
The commission was appointed on Dec 16 1992, ten days after the the Babri Masji demolition in Ayodhya which happened on Dec 6 1992. The incident had sparked of communal violence at the time and is a hot topic till date.
With the longest serving committee's report submitted after 16 years, there are already many speculations concerning the timing of the release and the content of the report.
