Pulled over for DUI, Priest blames holy wine!
Melbourne, Jun 29: After being pulled over by the cops for drunken driving, an Italian priest reportedly blamed the holy wine that he drank in a mass as the reason for him driving over the alcohol limit.
However, the cops did not accept the excuse and revoked his driving license, reports the Daily Telegraph.
The 41-year-old Roman Catholic priest was caught coming off the Milan-Turin motorway with a blood alcohol content of 0.8 grams per litre - above the authorised limit in Italy of 0.5 grams.
He is now set to appeal, saying his alcohol consumption was not 'voluntary' since it was part of the Catholic ritual in the four masses that he had celebrated during the day.
