Iran detains 8 UK embassy staff

Tehran, Jun 28: The local reports said that Iran has detained eight local staff of the British embassy in Tehran on accusation of having a role in post-election riots on Sunday, Jun 28.

"Eight local employees at the British embassy who had a considerable role in recent unrest were taken into custody," the semi-official of Fars News Agency said. "This group played an active role in provoking recent unrest," Fars added.

Iran has accused Britain and United States for motivating street protests and violence that rocked that country after its disputed Jun 12 of presidential election.
