Indian Coast Guard jawans rescue 20 crew members from Arabian sea
New Delhi, June 28 (ANI): The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) jawans in a heroic act on Saturday rescued 20 crew members of two ships, which had sunk two days back 20 nautical miles off Okha coast due to rough weather in the Arabian sea.
The ships were returning from Dubai but due to rough weather they got stranded in the Arabian sea.
A senior official of the Porbandar district said that following a marathon operation of 25 hours, jawans of the coast guard and its air wing rescued 20 persons who were crew members of the two ships which had sunk on June 25."
On Friday, three bodies of the crew members were found floating in the sea.
The rescued crew members were later handed over to their family members. Apart from the boats, coast guard also pressed choppers and an aircraft into the service for the rescue operation, the official informed. (ANI)
