Pak wants US to resolve Kashmir issue

Islamabad, Jun 26: Yousuf Raza Gilani, prime minister of Pakistan on Thursday, Jun 26 said that it wants US to resolve its row with India including Kashmir issue.

"The resolution of Pakistan's core issues would help it focus on the war against extremism and terrorism on its western border to ensure peace and stability in South Asia," the news agency quoted Gilani as saying.

He also urged the US to write off Pakistan's debt to help it overcome its immediate economic difficulties.

The news agencies said that US national security advisor, James Jones expressed his full agreement with Gilani's views and assured him that the US government would do everything possible to help Pakistan. He also stated that US would help in resumption of the Pakistan-India dialogue.
