Lahore, May 26 (ANI): Pakistan Muslim League-Qaid (PML-Q) Punjab President Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said that India's dominance in the region is unacceptable.
Addressing media persons after meeting a delegation of US Senators here, Elahi said the United States has been informed that Islamabad would never compromise over its integrity and sovereignty.
"The US delegation has been told that if they want to see Pakistan successful in the war on terror, then the hearts and minds of people should be won," Elahi added.
The delegation included Senators Jeanne Shaheen, Kay Hagan, Mark Begich, Mark Udall, and Thomas R Carper, The Nation reports.
Reiterating Pakistan's demand of having unmanned Predator aircrafts, Elahi said Islamabad understands the ground realities better than Washington, so it should provide drone technology to Pakistan instead of carrying out drone attacks inside its geographical territory.
Terming the Swat offensive as Pakistan's internal issue, Elahi said the Taliban was demoralizing Islam by showing rigidity in religion, cutting throats of men, beating women and practicing nefarious activities in the troubled Swat Valley.
He informed that the lingering Kashmir issue was also discussed during the meeting over which the PML-Q clarified that India's high handedness would not be tolerated in the issue.
"We are able to distinguish our friends and enemies so there is no need to dictate us in our national policies and issues," Elahi said. (ANI)
