Angry Shiv Sena burns billing office in Mumbai

Mumbai, Jun 25: A mob protesting power tariff hike by Anil Ambani-promoted Reliance Energy Ltd burnt down a billing station in Mumbai's Worli at around 04:00 am on Thursday, Jun 25. The mob was reportedly led by suspected Shiv Sena workers.

Earlier, on Wednesday, Jun 25, the protest against the hike in electricity charges had turned violent and police had resorted to lathi charge to disperse a group of Shiv Sena workers who disrupted traffic on the Western Express Highway.

Police detained a few prominent Shiv Sena leaders as a precautionary measure.
