Drone strikes in Taliban territory kill scores
Peshawar, Jun 24: US missile strike inside Taliban territory controlled by militant chief Baitullah Mehsud has reportedly killed about 20 to 30 people.
A Pakistan military source said that a US drone aircraft hit Taliban positions on Tuesday, Jun 23 and later hit scores of people who were gathered for a funeral in northwest of South Waziristan.
"We have initial reports that are not confirmed but the casualties are somewhere between 20 to 30," military spokesman Major General Athar Abbas was quoted as saying in a news agency report.
Informing that there were two attacks, the Pakistan military has said that Taliban militants are giving differing death tolls. There are even reports of death tolls as high as 65.
