Berlusconi enjoys electoral success despite sleazy allegations

London, June 24 (ANI): Despite allegations of sleaze swirling around Silvio Berlusconi, the Italian premiere tasted success in provincial elections.

In the elections, the 72-year-old tycoon's Right People of Freedom party was handed nine more provinces.

Meanwhile, the scandal surrounding prime minister got dirtier when he was accused of having slept with a prostitute at his mansion in Rome.

Also on Tuesday, a transsexual television presenter claimed to have acted as a "talent scout" for young women who were subsequently invited to Berlusconi's parties, reports The Telegraph.

But Berlusconi hit back. "I've never paid for a woman," he told Chi magazine.

"I've never understood what satisfaction there would be if there was not the pleasure of conquest," he added. (ANI)
