Govt considers 10 pc stake sale in BHEL
New Delhi, Jun 19: Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Vilasrao Deshmukh revealed that the government is considering offloading the 10 per cent of its equity stake in navratna public sector unit BHEL.
"The point of disinvestment (in BHEL) is still under consideration... the government has definitely a positive thinking on that line," Deshmukh said when asked about disinvestment.
He added that his department would support the government if it decides to disinvest.
Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) which is a power equipment Rs 28,000 crore listed company will have to come with a follow-on public offer if the government decides to disinvest.
