Police officials of six Indian cities discuss terror threats
Bangalore, June 18 (ANI): Top police officials of six metro cities met here on Wednesday to discuss terrorist threats.
City Police Commissioners from Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Bangalore attended the meeting, which was chaired by Bangalore City Police Commissioner Shankar Bidrihe main objective of the meeting was to discuss dealing with terrorist threats and to upgrade security measures.
"We have discussed the measures to be taken to deal with terrorist activities in the metropolitan cities. We will suggest measures and equip the police forces of the metropolitan cities as to enable them to deal with any terrorist situation effectively," said Bidari.
"The recommendations regarding each city will be sent to the Government of India whereupon it will take decision regarding extending necessary help to the city police forces to deal with terrorism," he added.
The security situation of metropolitan cities was also discussed in the backdrop of last year's Mumbai terror attacks, which left at least 166 people dead. (ANI)
