PML-N expresses concern over Waziristan offensive
Lahore, June 16 (ANI): The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has expressed concern over the government going ahead with the 'Get Betullah' mission in Waziristan, without taking the party leadership into confidence.
According to The Nation, the PML(N) leadership thinks that it would have been better if the Swat, Malakand operations had been completed first and the Internally Displaced People had been rehabilitated.
The new front should have been opened after consultation with the allies, the leadership believes.
Sources within the PML(N) disclosed that the party leadership would have appreciated it, had the government had taken the party into confidence regarding important decisions, particularly military operations.
They said the launching of the Waziristan operation without consultation would add to the number of IDPs and entail a new situation.
PML(N) leader Nawaz Sharif is likely to speak to Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani about the Waziristan operation soon, sources said. (ANI)
