Cirque du Soleil creator sues over hosting bacchanalian orgies claims
London, June 16 (ANI): Cirque du Soleil creator Guy Laliberti has decided to turn to court in a bid to hit back at allegations that he hosted bacchanalian orgies.
The once-penniless street performer has announced that he intends to file a lawsuit against publishers of an unauthorised biography that claims him to be "a bed-hopping scoundrel with an inexhaustible appetite for sex, drugs, and a rock and roll lifestyle".
The move comes after Montreal news magazine Macleans published some of the claims made in the explosive new tome, entitled The Fabulous Story of the Creator of the Cirque du Soleil, reports The Independent.
The book alleges details of some of the parties financed by Laliberti, who apparently provided with millions of dollars of fine food and wine while his assistants invited busloads of prostitutes for the bash.
Myra Jones, a Milan-based fashion model who attended several of the events, said: "Everything you wanted was available at Guy's parties. Drugs, the best music spun by famous DJs flown in from Europe and the USA, and the wildest sex you could ever imagine."
Angie Everhart, a Playboy model, added: "It was beyond crazy; it was complete insanity for hours. Everyone was so beautiful and so free. If there was a straight person in the house they must have freaked out watching everyone else trip. They would have thought they were the one on drugs."
But Laliberti, who now boasts of an estimated 2.5 billion dollar fortune, was said to be most upset by the claim relating to his ex-girlfriend Rizia Moreira, the mother of three of his five children.
She apparently complained in the book: "He'd come home after sleeping with other women and have sex with me. If he had told me, I never would have had sex with him."
Laliberti has reportedly written to Transit Publishing, asking them to withdraw the book from their shelves.
Meanwhile, Halperin has also decided to fight back, telling New York Post: "We intend to fight this vigorously and take this as a gross infringement on freedom of the press. Everything in my book is true and can easily be proven. If he continues to harass me, I will launch a slander suit." (ANI)
