China to provide security gadgets to Pakistan, says Malik
Islamabad, June 16 (ANI): China has promised to provide security gadgets worth 280 million dollars to Pakistan to support country's law-enforcement agencies, Pakistan's Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said
The Daily Times quoted Malik, as saying that the Chinese government had made the commitment to provide the gadgets during his recent visit to that country.
Addressing a posthumous award-distribution ceremony to the policemen, he said the gadgets included vehicle scanners, mobile scanners and other equipment.
Malik further said that various donors had pledged to provide Pakistan 65 million dollars for the capacity building and improvement of the Police Department.
The Pak government has decided to recruit 20,000 personnel for Islamabad police, he added. (ANI)
