Obama's half brother writing memoir
New Delhi, June 15 (ANI): U.S. president Barack Obama's half brother, George, is writing a memoir to be published by Simon and Schuster in January next year.
George, who is 27 and lives in Huruma, Kenya, has the same father as the president. The two half brothers did not meet until they were adults, reports the China Daily.
The book is tentatively titled "Homeland" and will be written with Damien Lewis, an author and journalist.
The book will talk about George's fall into crime and poverty as a teenager, before finding a passion for community organizing.
"Even had George Obama not been our President's half brother, his story is moving and inspirational," David Rosenthal, Simon and Schuster publisher and executive vice president, said in a statement Sunday.
"It is an object lesson in survival, selflessness and courage," he added
The publisher would not reveal how much it paid for the book, but someone with knowledge of the negotiations said it was in the six figures. (ANI)
