Mamata shows her humane side, orders lowering of food prices in new train
Howrah (West Bengal), June 14 (ANI): Known for being the voice of the voiceless, Railways Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday ordered officials to reduce the exorbitant price range of food available on board a new express train.
Banerjee, who arrived here to flag off the Kandari Express between Howrah and the tourist resort of Digha in East Midnapore district, expressed annoyance over the price-chart, saying she "didn't agree with it".
"The prices are very exorbitant. People can't pay such prices," Mamata said, and ordered her officials to reduce the price to an affordable level.
Mamata said she was not informed of the rates by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation officials (ANI)
