Bansal given additional charge of Ministry of Water Resources

New Delhi, June 14 (ANI): Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal has been given additional charge of the Ministry of Water Resources following Meira Kumar's elevation to be the Lok Sabha Speaker.

Bansal has been given the additional responsibility by the President Pratibha Devisingh Patil in consultation with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, a Rashtrapati Bhawan communiqui stated here on Sunday.

Previously, Meira Kumar was given the Water Resources portfolio. But she resigned before her election as the new Lok Sabha Speaker.

Pratik Prakashbapu Patil was appointed as the new Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports while incumbent Arun Yadav has been moved to Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Ministry in the same capacity, the communiqui further stated.

Patil was earlier the Minister of State for Heavy Industries.(ANI)
