Pak will fight Taliban 'until the end': Zardari
Islamabad, Jun 13: Even as the country burns in terrorist attacks which seem to be retaliatory to the military offensive launched against the Taliban in the North Western Frontier Province (NWFP) of the country, Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday, Jun 13 said that Pakistan would fight Taliban 'until the end'.
"We are fighting a war for our sovereignty," Zardari said in a television address. "We will continue this war until the end, and we will win it at any cost."
Calling the militants enemies of innocent people, he said that they aim to terrorise the people and to take control of the country's institutions.
His statement comes after the suicide bombing on Friday, Jun 12 at two mosques which targeted the innocent civilians who were busy with their Friday prayers. The attack killed at least six people, including a prominent Muslim cleric, and wounded more than 100.
