Naxals launch twin attacks, 10 policemen killed
Bokaro, Jun 13: Naxalites on Friday, Jun 12 triggered off landmines and bombs in and around a small town close to Bokaro, killing 10 policemen and injuring several others. The bold twin daylight attacks came three days after they killed 10 policemen in a landmine blast in West Singbhum.
In one attack that took place Phusro town, policemen from the Bermo station were attacked when they were escorting a van carrying a Damodar Valley Corp remittance of Rs 14 lakh to the State Bank of India branch. Two policemen, a constable and a jawan were killed and two Naxalite guerrillas were also injured, police said
In the second attack, an anti-landmine vehicle carrying district police and special auxiliary police personnel from Nawadih police station was blown up by a powerful blast at Sarubera.
