Kaiga N-scientist still missing, IB joins search
Bangalore, Jun 12: Four days after the mysterious disappearance of the the Nuclear scientist, Lokanathan Mahalingam; the Intelligence Bureau (IB) has joined the Karnataka Police in the manhunt.
The police on Friday, Jun 12 admitted that there has been no progress in the search operation of the senior scientific officer of the state-run Kaiga atomic plant in coastal Karnataka who went missing on Monday, Jun 8.
"We're yet to get any credible clue to track the missing scientist. The operation is on and hopefully we'll soon make some positive progress in our operation," Uttara Kannada District Superintendent of Police Raman Gupta was quoted as saying in a news agency report.
While the possibility that the scientist may have been a victim to kidnap or other such crime due to his knowledge sensitive data has been ruled out; media is now speculating if the scientist fell prey to a man-eating leopard in the forests when he went for his morning walk.
