Sopore gunbattle ends, two militants killed

Sopore, June 10 (ANI): The gunbattle between militants and security forces in Sopore town, 55 km from here, ended on Wednesday.

The encounter, which began at around 4:00 a.m., has claimed the lives of the two militants.

One militant is said to be the battalion commander of the Harkat-ul- Mujahideen (HuM).

The battle, which lasted for seven hours and forty minutes, ended at around 11:40 a.m.

A combing operation was jointly launched by police and army at Dangerpora. Later, the army blew up house in which two militants were hiding. (ANI)
