Racism is unacceptable in any form: Rudd

Melbourne, Jun 10: Kevin Rudd, Australian prime minster on Wednesday, Jun 10 said that the violence in Australian cities against the Indian students was 'regrettable part' of urban life. He has also warned against the vigilante action saying, such acts as 'equally unwelcome'.

Rudd said, "It's unacceptable for anyone to commit an act of violence against any student of any ethnicity anywhere in Australia."

Rudd also said, "This is one of the safest countries in the world for international students. Some of the attacks were clearly racist in motivation and that violence is unacceptable and racism is unacceptable in any form."

Meanwhile, Indian students have also formed groups to protect students from racial attacks at St Albans and Thomas railway stations in Melbourne's west.
