Pak has spent a whopping Rs. 2.66 billion on VIP security during fiscal 2008-09
Lahore, June 9 (ANI): Worried by the impending terror threat on famous political personalities and other VIP's of the province, the Punjab government has released a supplementary grant of 2.66 billion rupees to ensure safety of eminent personalities during the current fiscal year.
According to The News, two special posts of SP Security for the VVIPs, VIPs have been created for which an extra fund of 11.408 million rupees has been released.
Separate funds have also been released to strengthen the Crime Investigation Department (CID) and the Elite Force.
Interestingly, an additional fund of 1.685 million rupees was also released without mentioning any reason, while 85 million rupees also released to police for funding cash rewards for secret services. (ANI)
