Palestine open to resume talks with Israel

Ramallah, Jun 8: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has said that the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) is open to resuming peace talks with Israel as soon as the Jewish state implements the first article of the Road Map peace plan.

"We don't put conditions, but Israel has to carry out the first article of the Road Map which it (Israel) accepted more than seven years ago," Abbas told said on Monday, Jun 8.

As per the U.S.-backed peace guideline Israel, has to to stop settlement activities in the Palestinian territories, reopen the PNA offices in East Jerusalem and withdrawing forces from inside the Palestinian-controlled areas.

Abbas said that his country had implemented their obligations including dismantling armed groups in the West Bank.
