A civilian injured in army firing in Kashmir
Poonch (J-K), June 8 (ANI): A civilian received injuries when security forces allegedly fired at him, mistaking him for a militant, in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.
Mukhtiyar Ahmed, a 29-year old villager received two bullets on his leg and chest when troops opened fire during a search operation in Mendhar Sector of Poonch district.
Police officials said Ahmed was airlifted by the army chopper to Poonch and admitted in the city hospital.
"He received two bullet injuries and was admitted at medical hospital in Mendhar. The doctor concerned gave him first aid, now we are shifting him to Jammu," said Farooq Hussain Shah, station house officer, Mendhar. (ANI)
