23-yr-old Indian student attacked again in Oz

Melbourne, Jun 8: Kamal Jit, an Indian student in Australia was beaten up for the second time in a time of two weeks by a group of youngsters in Melbourne of Australia. Jit is the eleventh person from the Indian community to be racially attacked in a month.

23-year-old Kamal Jit was found unconscious and bleeding by another Indian student in western suburb of the city on Sunday, Jun 7. He was earlier attacked by masked men, who pelted eggs after getting off a late night train at St Albans station in western suburb.

The Age newspaper quoted Jit saying, "It is very bad because we pay a lot of money and we are living far away from our country and from our families and we are without protection.

On Sunday, Jun 7, Kamal Jit while walking to home at about 1:40 am saw three men acting suspiciously in a car and tried to avoid them. Later two men got out of the car and they pushed him to the ground and hit him on head, reportedly with a steel rod.

The Indian student required seven stitches after the incident to his head and is planning to move out of the suburb at the earliest.
