Mexico: 29 kids killed in day care centre fire

Mexico, Jun 6: In a fire that broke out in a daycare centre in northwest Mexico, at least 29 children have been reportedly killed. The most recent new reports claim that the death toll has risen to 31.

About 70 children and a few day care staff were taking their afternoon sleep when the fire broke out at the facility in the state capital Hermosillo. Local media reports suggest that there were at least 176 children aged between three months and two years inside the ABC daycare centre at the time of the incident.

When the fire broke out, local residents tried to free the children from inside the building by ramming their cars and vans into the cement walls.

25 children and five other are being treated in a near by hospital, out of which some are 'in grave condition'. The case of fire, is still unknown.
