Fritzl to stay in solitary for life for his safety
London, June 5 (ANI): Austrian incest fiend Josef Fritzl, who raped and imprisoned his daughter for 24 years, will be moved to a jail wing for mentally abnormal offenders to serve his life sentence, it has been announced.
The 74-year-old's shift to Stein will "keep him safe from attack" by fellow-convicts, said Austrian prison boss Karl Drexler, reports The Mirror.
He added: "He's had problems with other inmates."
According to Drexler, the prison's medical wing would be able to care for the ageing killer.
Fritzl fathered seven children with his daughter while she was locked in a cellar for more than two decades. One child died of neglect.
In March, Fritzl was found guilty of all charges against him, including rape, incest, enslavement and murder, and was sentenced to life in prison.
Fritzl had wanted to be moved to Garsten prison, closer to his home town of Amstetten, but his family said they did not want him nearby. (ANI)
