New Delhi, Jun 5: Speaking on the the Motion of Thanks to President's address in Loks Sabha, LK Advani demanded for an Inquiry commission into the 26/11 Mumbai Terror Attacks. P Chidambaram lashed back at him questioning if the NDA government appointed a commission when Kandhahar attack happened.

Referring to the attacks as 'invasion of India' launched by Pakistan, Opposition Leader, LK Advani on Friday, Jun 5 demanded a setting up of Inquiry Commision at central level to determine what went wrong and to suggest steps to prevent recurrence of such terror strikes.

"The Centre should set up a Commission of Inquiry to review the conclusions of Pradhan Committee... The country and Parliament should know what went wrong and where," he said.

He also asked the government to hasten the trial of Azam Amir Kasav, the lone survivor of the terror strike.

Reacting to this, Union Home Minister P Chidambaram said "I don't think there is a need for a Commission of Inquiry. We are not going to appoint it."

He found it surprising that the this issue was brought up six months after the terror strike. 'I am amused by that demand' he said.

He also questioned NDA government's step after the Kandahar and Parliament attack.

"Besides, I would like to ask, did the NDA government appoint a Commission of Inquiry after Kandahar? Did they appoint a Commission of Inquiry after Parliament was attacked? I don't think that these kind of statements are going to help the situation," he said.

Even though the Lok Sabha Polls came to an end, the war of the words is far from over in the Indian political scene.
