Forget about Microsoft, we are fine: Yahoo CEO
New York, Jun 3: In the view of speculations over a possible Yahoo and Microsoft deal, the Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz seems to belive that Yahoo will do just fine without Microsoft.
Bartz, on Wednesday, Jun 3 played down reports of an Internet search tie-up with the software giant and said that her company was not under pressure to partner with Microsoft Corp.
"Yahoo! actually has a bright, bright future, probably cleaner and simpler future without thinking there's any Microsoft connection," she said.
Adding that Yahoo would be better off without having to hear the word Microsoft, she said, "Forget about the Microsoft stuff, it's honestly not that relevant."
While Microsoft chief executive Steve Ballmer has expressed interest in a deal with Yahoo, Bartz maintains that too much attention was being paid to the issue while Yahoo was doing fine on its own.
In 2008, Microsoft tried to buy Yahoo for USD 47.5 billion in an attempt to put up a strong fight against Google.
