PML-N asks govt. to try Musharraf for Bhutto's assassination
Islamabad, Jun. 3 (ANI): Alleging that the former President General Prevez Musharraf was responsible for former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto's assassination, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has urged the government to put the autocratic ruler on trial.
The PML-N asked the government to register a first information report (FIR) against Musharraf for Bhutto's assassination and put his name on the Exit Control List (ECL), The Daily Times reports.
Addressing media persons here, PML-N spokesman Siddiqul Farooq said his party would register an FIR in Bhutto murder case if the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) fails do so.
Condemning the PPP government over its failure to register an FIR in this regard despite being in the office for more than a year, he said the party's leadership should hold an inquiry through the Supreme Court (SC) instead of going asking the United Nations to intervene.
Farooq also disclosed that in her last email to CNN's Wolf Blitzer, Benazir Bhutto had said that Musharraf should be held responsible in case something happened to her.
He blamed Musharraf for sowing the seeds of all the crises facing the country presently. (ANI)
