Lahore blast CCTC images expose shocking security lapses by 'relaxed' Pak cops
Lahore, Jun.3 (ANI): Latest CCTV images of minutes before the terror strike on the Provincial Headquarters of Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) have revealed that the security officials were least worried about any terror threat.
The video footages, which flooded the local TV channels here, showed a single policeman retaliating to the heavily armed militants, as all his compatriots had fled from the scene immediately after the terrorists opened fire.
The security official challenged the attackers for a while but back-up support was no where to be witnessed, the video shows.
It also showed two unarmed policemen were running away from the scene to some safe place instead of confronting the attackers, while the attackers threw hand-grenades on these fleeing policemen, The Nation reports.
The video showed a van breaking the traffic signal, and the barricades set up outside the Emergency Police Service (Rescue 15) building, but even this failed to set the alarm bells ringing for the security officials.
The images showed an unarmed and relaxed policeman, hardly expecting any threat, approaching the driver of the vehicle.
Just when the official reached near the vehicle, the extremists started firing, and later the van exploded, destroying the whole building. (ANI)
