Central team to visit WB to access damage by cyclone 'Aila'
New Delhi, June 3 (ANI): The Centre would soon send a team to assess the damage caused by recent cyclone "Aila" in West Bengal, state, it has been assured to the State Government, said West Bengal Finance Minister Ashim Das Gupta on Tuesday.
Ashim, after meeting the Union Home Minister P.Chidambaram on Tuesday in the national capital, said that Chidambaram has also promised that he would sympathetically consider all the demands for rehabilitation of the cyclone-affected people.
Cyclone "Aila" hit the coast of West Bengal on the 25th of last month.
The Prime Minister has already announced ex-gratia relief of 200,000 rupees for each of those killed in the cyclone in the state and other affected areas.
Later, Rural Development Minister C P Joshi also ordered grant of 100 million rupees for relief work for cyclone-hit people in West Bengal. (ANI)
