Mumbai, June 1(ANI): In the absence of any strong evidence, the investigation being conducted on the mysterious death of Air Works technician Bharat Borge is likely to be closed soon.

"We have not found any evidence to suggest that his death was a suicide and will be submitting a report soon stating that his death was an accident after which investigations will be closed," ACP (GRP) Prakash Sawant said.

Borge was a key witness in the Ambani chopper sabotage case. He was among the first persons to spot the open fuel cap of Ambani's Bell-412 helicopter and on inspection found pebbles and gravel inside.

He was found dead under mysterious conditions. He was struck by a train while he was crossing the track at suburban Vile Parle.

"The suicide note, found near Borge's body also failed to indicate his intention to take the extreme step," Prakash Sawant added.

A letter had been recovered from Borge which said that some "Reliance" people had came to see him and questioned him before his death.

However, investigations did not find any evidence of him being intimidated by anybody, police officials said.

Earlier, GRP Commissioner (Mumbai) A K Sharma had said that there are no evidence to suggest any abetment to his death and even his phone records of the day when he died was clear.

The preliminary post-mortem report had indicated that he died of multiple fractures and injuries sustained. (ANI)
