Ahmadinejad heading for a second term as Iran's President
Tehran (Iran), June 1(ANI): With unconditional support being offered to him, Iran's presidential candidate Mahmoud Ahmadinejad seems to be heading towards his second consecutive term.
With the campaign in full swing before the June 12 elections, the self-proclaimed man of the people and a politician with the interest of the poor at heart, the working class and the poor are viewing Ahmadinejad as a national hero.
"He is what we need at this every moment. In truth, Ahmadinejad has brought out the best in Iran and has made us a strong nation that is feared by both Israel and America. Israel will never attack us. They are too afraid, because we are a nuclear country," a local said when asked why he would be voting for Ahmadinejad.
Several analysts believe that his followers outside of Teheran, among the overtly religious residents of Qom and every other city in the country, will turn out in great numbers to vote and show their support.
In Qom, pictures of the leader has been pasted everywhere by supporters, youngsters have even plastered his face on the side of their cars.
Young and old, they say they take pride in Ahmadinejad's role as an international pariah. (ANI)
