Five Brit Muslims nabbed in attempted 1.5 million pound heroin heist
London, May 30 (ANI): Five British Muslims face lengthy jail terms for trying to smuggle heroin worth 1.5 million pound into the UK in rugs.
According to The Sun, amazed Customs officers discovered almost 37 pounds of high-grade heroin in 25 rugs flown from Afghanistan to Birmingham Airport in January last year.
The plot's mastermind, Mohammed Faisal Dad, 24, of Solihull, West Mids, evaded cops for several months after his cohorts were nicked.
Police finally discovered him hiding in the false base of a divan bed.
He, Asif Khan, 23, of Birmingham, Soyab Hansdot, 22 and Ishmael Makda, 27, both of Leicester, all admitted conspiracy to contravene the Customs and Excise Management Act.
Mohammed Ibrar, 21, of Solihull, admitted money laundering.
Judge Peter Carr said yesterday they face long jail terms when sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court next week. (ANI)
