Perform or Perish: Sonia warns new cabinet

New Delhi, May 29: Congress president Sonia Gandhi has has sent out a strong signal to the newly inducted ministers implying that they 'perform or perish'.

Responding to a question if there would be any changes or reshuffles, Sonia Gandhi said “Some of those who are inside can make way for others."

The question came after the swearing-in ceremony that took place at the Rashtrapati Bhawan on Thursday, May 28. It was inspired by the fact that the new UPA government has sworn in most of the members in one go.

On the same lines, the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh also said that it was not enough to do 'business as usual' at a recently held meeting with the Congress MPs.

UPA government that was elected into power for the second time seemingly wants to make it clear that it will not tolerate incompetence from its Cabinet member.
