I never wanted a Cabinet berth: HDK
Bangalore, May 29: H D Kumaraswamy, the JD-S leader and former CM of Karnataka resigned from the state Assembly membership on Thursday, May 28. He was elected to the Lok Sabha from the Bangalore Rural constituency.
HDK who got elected a year ago from the Ramanagaram constituency of Karnataka, met Jagadish Shettar, the state Assembly speaker and handed over his resignation letter. HDK later slammed media as well as other parties for alleging that he camped in New Delhi to get a ministerial berth for himself.
“I did not meet Sonia Gandhi for personal gains. But the purpose of the visit was to bring to her notice the injustice done to the state vis-a-vis various projects," he claimed. “I must thank the media for giving me publicity for the Delhi visit," he remarked.
With Kumaraswamy's resignation, Karnataka will again see a by-election. Wastage of tax payers money again!
